You arrived at the airport, what next?
Security check at the airport entrance
Everything starts with security. If you’ve checked in online, have a printed boarding pass*, and don’t have checked baggage, you can head straight to the security screening area and then to the boarding gate.
If you need to check in yourself or your baggage, or if you don’t have a printed boarding pass, you’ll need to visit the check-in counter. You can find it by checking the airport’s information board, which lists all flights, including yours.
We recommend printing the boarding pass
Check-in area
At the check-in counter, show the staff all your carry-on items (even small ones) and any checked baggage. Your carry-on will need to be placed on the scales and then in the sizer to ensure it fits on the overhead shelf or under the seat in front of you.
Once approved, a tag will be attached to your carry-on, confirming it meets the rules. Don’t remove the tag until you leave the plane—it’s bright, stylish, and makes for a fun accessory!
Your checked baggage will also need to be placed on the scales and will then head off on a conveyor belt for loading onto the plane. A baggage receipt will be provided—keep it safe until you retrieve your luggage.
Receive your boarding pass
you won’t be able to fly without it. Before leaving the counter, double-check that you’re happy with your assigned seat (it’s automatically selected by the system). If you’d like to change it, let the staff know. You’ll be offered the option to choose and pay for any available seat you prefer. There are even seats with extra legroom—ask the staff if any are still available.
Boarding pass
So, you have your boarding pass in hand. It contains important information:
The gate number (Gate)
Boarding till
Security Screening and Boarding Gate
It’s time to go through security screening. You’ll need to place your personal items in a tray and put them on the conveyor belt, then walk through the metal detector. (Here’s a friendly reminder: finish your water beforehand, or you’ll have to throw it away.) After that, you’ll enter the secure area, where you’ll need to locate your boarding gate.
At this stage, it’s important to stay alert—the gate number can change. To avoid any stress, check the departure screens periodically for updated information and listen carefully to announcements over the loudspeakers.
The flight time is coming
Boarding begins after check-in for the flight closes, lasts about 15 minutes, and ends 25 minutes before departure. Plan your time accordingly so you don’t feel rushed—this is a good chance to visit cafes, shops, or restrooms if needed. However, make sure to be near your boarding gate by the time boarding starts.
Why is it important not to be late for boarding?
If you do happen to miss boarding (we really were looking forward to having you on the flight and are concerned that you didn’t make it), call us immediately to let us know. We’ll explain what steps to take next. It’s essential to do this before the flight departs.
In the clean zone
If you decide to buy souvenirs, make sure they fit within your carry-on allowance.
The only additional items you’re allowed to bring from the secure area are a food bag for an onboard snack or Duty-Free purchases in a sealed bag (weighing no more than 2 kg and measuring no more than 30x25x7 cm).
It is time to board the plane
When boarding begins, show your boarding pass to the staff. Sometimes, they may also ask for the document used to book your ticket—this is for security purposes.
Staff might conduct an additional check of your carry-on luggage. They may ask you to place it in the sizer again, especially if its size visually appears larger than allowed or if the baggage tag is missing. Please be understanding about this.
